Your first yoga class

Preparing for your first yoga class...

Don't worry - we were nervous our first time too!

What to Bring?

Bring a yoga mat, a small towel and drinking water for your yogic practice. We also provide drinking water in our reception area, so you can bring your own refillable bottle too.

What to Wear?

Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothing, that allows you to move your body freely through the poses. We'd recommend loose-fitting, nothing too tight clothes appropriate to the weather. There's a changing room in the center.

When to Arrive?

Please arrive 10 - 15 minutes prior to class time (latecomers are not permitted) and check-in at front desk, even if you've made an appointment.

What to eat & drink prior to class?

Come to class on a semi-empty stomach (you shouldn't be hungry) and avoid coffee before class. Try not to eat any heavy meals 2 - 3 hours before practicing.

Juice or fruit are OK if you need a quick energy boost before class. Drink plenty of water prior to class, but avoid drinking during class.

What to Buy?

First-time students at our centre can purchase any of our Introduction Packages. It is a great opportunity to become acquainted with our instructors and our studio, while experiencing the benefits of our teachings on a personal level. (Absolutely no extensions, sharing or refunds allowed for Introduction Packages).

Purchase a yoga mat if you don't already have one, as having your own mat supports your commitment to your practice and ensures its cleanliness.

Some more tips!

Please turn mobile devices off and refrain from switching them on, even in the change rooms, and refrain from wearing any fragrances when coming to class.

Remove your shoes when entering the studio. This preserves the sacred nature of the centre, and a common practise when doing the various yoga postures.

Practice often. 4-6 times per week for maximum benefit. 2-3 times per week will show improvement for most students within three months.

Please make sure you are aware of our cancellation policy.

Notify the teacher of injuries or medical conditions. This helps the teacher know how to assist you and give you modifications.
